Neck Liposuction: Slimming Down the Profile

One of the first places that age and weight gain shows is the submental area — front of the neck, under the chin. There is often a hereditary component as well, with some patients noting that they have always had extra fullness under their chin.

This frustrating fat can often cause an individual to look heavier or older than they actually are, which has a negative impact on self-esteem. Our Neck liposuction in Cleveland has long been used to remove unwanted fat from this area, giving a better contour to the neck and profile.

Neck Liposuction Procedure Details

Dr. Frankel performs neck liposuction with the patient under local anesthesia with light sedation, or with IV sedation. He will create a tiny incision (2 to 3 millimeters) in the natural crease of the skin beneath the chin, and sometimes behind the earlobe. Once this has been done, he will insert a cannula into the incision. This cannula will be pushed and pulled through the fat, loosening the fat cells and then suctioning them out of the body. Once healed, the incisions will be essentially invisible.

Recovery and Results

Although every case is different, the majority of neck liposuction patients can return to work within five days and continue light exercise in one week. We recommend that you rest for 24 hours following your procedure.

Results are finalized at about four months, although you will see your results looking better and better each day. These results are long-lasting and will stay for many years, especially if you maintain a strong skincare regimen and a healthy weight.

How Much Does Neck Liposuction Cost?

On average, neck liposuction procedures will cost anywhere from $5,000 to $7,500. This does not include sedation or facility fees. The overall price will vary based on the amount of fat being extracted and other factors related to the treatment.

During the private consultation, patients will receive a quote for their treatment based on their needs and calculated costs.

FAQ

Will neck liposuction get rid of my “turkey neck”?

What procedures go well with neck liposuction?

Will neck liposuction get rid of my “turkey neck”?

Liposuction is meant to remove fat — not loose skin. If you have a prominent “turkey neck”, the best option for you is most likely a neck lift. During your consultation with Dr. Frankel, he can evaluate your areas of concern and determine the right procedure to improve the area.

What procedures go well with neck liposuction?

Neck liposuction is often done in conjunction with a facelift. Patients with a weak chin may also benefit from placement of a chin implant at the time of neck liposuction to improve the jawline and neck contour.
