Whether you’re seeking rhinoplasty to improve the appearance of your nose, functionality, or both, Dr. Frankel is a double board-certified facial surgeon who can help.
Recovery
The first 2-3 days after rhinoplasty are the toughest. Patients must deal with discomfort, swelling, and bruising during this time. Around day four, patients begin feeling better. In one week, when the cast and splints are removed, patients begin to feel even better. We encourage light exercise (such as walks) after one week, and activity may be increased gradually after two weeks. However, high intensity exercise should be avoided for one month.
Dr. Frankel will see you for follow-up visits at one week; 3-4 weeks; 3-4 months, and at one year.
- 50% of swelling is resolved at two weeks
- 70% of swelling is resolved at six weeks
- The last 30% of swelling gradually improves over 12 months
